As participants (and organisers!) of the Future City Hackathons get ready for these exciting challenges, here is more information on the events.

Check the details of the weekend in the Future Hacks Schedule and FAQs.

If you’re a registered participant, you will be invited to sign up during the Friday night welcome session from 6 to 9pm. You will have an overview of the weekend and get a chance to meet everyone: the OPEN Glasgow team, the mentors and the other participants. So if you’re coming on your own, don’t worry, you’ll feel part of the team in no time.

Guest speakers will share their views on the theme and challenge participants to think, talk, brainstorm, widen their perspective and truly grasp the issues facing citizens.

We’ll encourage participants to pitch their ideas and call for team members to join them in shaping these original concepts. There will be a time to discuss these original ideas. They will then grow and develop throughout the weekend.

Once teams are formed, they will have to register by 9pm on Friday at the latest. This step is important, as the winning team will share a £20,000 prize fund . If necessary, you will be able to change or leave teams but must notify us immediately.

The venue will remain open to registered participants all weekend, including on Friday and Saturday nights. The hackathon ends at 6pm on Sunday.

Between 6 and 9pm, the teams will present their working solution to a panel of judges before the big announcement: the team who will win the £20,000 cash prize fund (T&Cs apply).
